Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 2026
1. Introduction
Herplace, operated by [BUSINESS NAME] ("we," "us," or "our"), is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our Platform.
2. Information We Collect
We collect the following information:
- Account information: username, email address, password (encrypted)
- Profile information: display name, bio, profile photo
- Payment information: processed by our payment processor — we do not store full card numbers
- Content you upload to the Platform
- Communications between users on the Platform (encrypted)
- Usage data: IP address, browser type, pages visited, time spent
- Safety profile and emergency contacts: the details you enter for our on-call team, and the names, email addresses and phone numbers of up to three people you choose. All of it is encrypted in our database.
- Safety event data: panic button activations, check-ins, missed return times, and a record of each email sent to your emergency contacts
- Reports: when you report something, your account, what you reported, the category you chose, anything you write, and a copy of what the report page showed you would go with it — the messages, or the profile or gallery details. It is encrypted in our database. The person you report is not told. If you delete your account, your reports stay so we can still act on them, but they are no longer linked to you.
3. How We Use Your Information
- To provide and operate the Platform
- To process payments and payouts
- To send account-related emails including verification and notifications
- To provide safety features and respond to safety events
- To email the emergency contacts you choose when you press PANIC or miss the return time on a safety session. We use a contact's details for nothing else, and every email lets them stop these alerts.
- To read and act on reports, and to detect and prevent fraud and abuse
- To comply with legal obligations
4. Creator Privacy Protections
We take creator privacy seriously. We never share creator personal information with fans or third parties except as required by law. We do not show your location to other users; only what you choose to put on your own profile is shown. We encourage creators to use their Herplace email address for all platform communications to protect their personal email.
5. Data Sharing
We do not sell your personal information. We may share information with:
- Payment processors to facilitate transactions
- Law enforcement when required by law or to protect safety
- Service providers who assist in operating the Platform under strict confidentiality agreements
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard encryption to protect your data. Messages are encrypted where they are stored, and you can turn on end-to-end encryption so that only the people in a conversation can read it. Passwords are hashed and never stored in plain text. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
7. Data Retention
We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Upon account deletion, your personal data and content are permanently removed from our systems within 30 days, except where retention is required by law.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal information we hold about you
- Request correction of inaccurate data
- Request deletion of your account and data
- Withdraw consent at any time
9. Cookies
We use cookies solely for session management and authentication. We do not use tracking cookies or sell data to advertisers.
10. Children
Herplace is strictly for users 18 years of age and older. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If we discover an account belongs to a minor, it will be immediately terminated.
